
90 years anniversary is a good time to look at the results and to remember the history of the Bosch Service network development.
The car boom at the beginning of the 1920 brought not only a traffic chaos but also had other influences. The most of the newly made car drivers didn`t have an idea how their cars should be repaired. Bosch used this huge market opportunity offering the workshop concept to the booming market. 1921 the first workshop in Hamburg in one of the oldest Hamburger Autohaus was opened. The name of the first Bosch Dienst was «Max Eisenmann&Co».
During the following 5 years there were about 20 workshops in Germany. Later the network started to be developed in other countries. At the beginning of 1930 the Bosch Dienst organization counted 2750 workshops in 78 countries. The growing awareness of the Bosch name influenced the appearance of Bosch representations all over the world. 3800 Bosch Services worldwide offered their qualitative service in 1962 already.
With the opening of the Bosch Dienst «Peter Mueller & Soehne» in the year 1992 Bosch reached the number of 10000 workshops all over the world.
Today with over 15,000 workshops in 142 countries, Bosch Service has the world's largest network in the independent workshop market. During 90 years Bosch Car Services all over the world are offering car drivers a competent and cost-effective alternative to dealer workshops. The range of services includes the classic Bosch fields of automotive electrics, electronics and diesel service as well as general mechanical vehicle repairs, inspections and oil service, air-conditioning service, in-car multimedia, tires and autoglass service.
Today, there are about 150 Bosch Services in ASEAN countries and the number is growing. Bosch Automotive Aftermarket division in each country is providing comprehensive support to Bosch Service partners with state-of-the-art technology, technical information and effective technical and non-technical trainings, spare parts logistics, an uniform external image and marketing measures, quality audits and tests providing by an external company to ensure continuous improvement, all of which add up to a total car care experience that provide ultimate solutions and meet each customer's personal needs.
For the following years we are planning to maintain the high standards of our network in ASEAN countries and to bring new reliable partners into the Bosch Service family.
